Cookies & Preferences
Understand what your browser remembers.
A little storage helps Striiive work. Optional analytics is your choice.
Cookies are small pieces of information saved by your browser. We also use local and session storage to remember choices and keep features working. Here is what they do, when they are used, and what you can control.
See what we storeYour browser. Your choice.
Cookie preferences
Essential storage
Used when needed for sign-in, security and features you use.
Optional browser analytics
Helps us understand how features are used through PostHog, when configured.
Analytics stays off until you allow it. You can use Striiive either way.
We remember your choice for up to 180 days in this browser on this website. Other browsers, devices or Striiive domains have their own settings.
Storage with a purpose
What is remembered, and why.
Browsing the marketing site does not use every item below. Some are only needed when you sign in, set up your account, or use a particular feature.
Athlete selection
The striiive-active-athlete cookie remembers which of your available athlete profiles you selected. Account permissions still determine access.
Used: When you choose an athlete in the web app.
Up to 1 year, renewed when you change the selection.
Protected links & connections
The striiive_passport_viewer cookie remembers verification for a protected passport link. The google_oauth_state cookie checks a calendar connection flow.
Used: When you verify a protected passport or connect Google Calendar.
Up to 24 hours for passport verification; up to 10 minutes for calendar connection, removed when the callback is handled.
Preview access
The site-access cookie remembers access to the website when a preview password is enabled.
Used: Only on a password-protected preview.
Up to 30 days.
Onboarding & display preferences
Session storage keeps selected onboarding choices as you move between steps. Local storage remembers choices such as calendar view and dismissed notices.
Used: When you use the relevant setup or display controls.
Session storage lasts for the tab’s session. Local preferences stay until replaced or cleared.
Your analytics choice
The striiive-browser-analytics-v1 local storage entry remembers whether you allowed or declined optional browser analytics.
Used: When you save a choice on this page.
Your choice is valid for 180 days. After that, analytics stays off until you choose again.
Optional browser analytics
When configured and allowed, PostHog uses ph_… cookies and browser storage to associate feature-use events with a browser.
Used: Only after you allow browser analytics. Automatic click capture and session recordings are disabled.
Cookies can last up to 180 days and may be renewed during use. Local storage can remain until cleared; turning analytics off disables PostHog persistence.
Practical control
Change your mind.
Keep moving.
Return to this page through the footer whenever you want to change your analytics choice. Turning it off stops future optional browser analytics; it does not delete events already sent.
Review my preferencesCan I clear cookies and browser storage myself?
Yes. Use your browser’s site data or privacy settings to remove cookies and storage for this website. This can sign you out, reset display preferences and remove saved onboarding choices. Clearing this site’s data also removes your analytics choice, so optional browser analytics returns to off. It does not delete your Striiive account or the athlete records saved in it.
What happens when I turn analytics off?
The browser analytics client stops capturing events and disables its analytics storage. The preference you save stays so we can remember your choice. Sign-in, security and requested features continue to work. Tabs open on this website also pick up your change.
Does this control all processing of my data?
These controls apply to optional PostHog analytics in this browser on this website. They do not change mobile app settings, athlete sharing permissions, server-side service events, security logs or error monitoring. Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled; our Security & Privacy page explains access and sharing.
What if my browser blocks storage?
Optional browser analytics stays off if we cannot read a valid saved choice. We will tell you if a preference cannot be saved. Blocking all cookies may also prevent sign-in or other features that depend on browser storage.
